FAQs

I do not have enough space on my form to explain everything. What should I do?

Where you need additional space to complete your answers, please include a separate sheet of paper. On the top of that separate sheet, indicate the name of the form and the number corresponding to the question you are answering.

What if some questions on the application form do not apply to me?

Before deciding that a particular question on the application form does not apply to you, please verify with your Authorized Agent. Once it has been confirmed that the question does not apply to you, please write N/A in the space allocated for the answer to the question.

What language should my supporting documents be in?

All supporting documents must be submitted in the original language. Where the original language of the supporting document is NOT English, then you MUST also submit an authenticated English translation of the original. Therefore in the cases where the original supporting document is not in English, you will have two submissions? one of the original document accompanied by the English translation. Where the original supporting document is in English, only the English document is required.

I do not know what date to put in the address history section of my citizenship form ‘What do I do?

The history section of the Application for Saint Lucian Citizenship Form SL5, requires you to list each country where you have lived in the last ten years. For each place of residence include the month and year you started living at that location in the From column and the month and year you stopped living at that location in the To column.

What should I do if I want my spouse, family member and friend to check on the status of my application on my behalf?

Only your Authorized Agents can check on the status of your application. The Unit will not share any information on the status of an application with anyone other than your Authorized Agent.

How long does it take to process my citizenship application?

Approximately three (3) months. 

The Citizenship by Investment Unit will inform your Authorized Agent once your application has been accepted for processing. In order to be accepted for processing by the Unit, your application MUST be fully compliant as per the legislation and guidelines published by the Citizenship by Investment Board. 

From the date of notifying your Authorized Agent that your application has been accepted for processing, it will take approximately three months to process your application. Should there be any extenuating circumstances that would cause a delay in the processing of your application, your Authorized Agent will be informed directly by the Unit.

How do I get my citizenship application processed faster?

Please be sure that your application is submitted in accordance with the guidelines published by the Citizenship by Investment Board. Failure to do so would mean a delay in the amount of time the Citizenship by Investment Unit takes to accept your application for processing.

Once an application has been accepted for processing, it will be treated on its merit by the Citizenship by Investment Unit. Where there are abnormalities to be addressed, the Unit will contact your Authorized Agent directly. 

Otherwise, your application cannot be expedited. All application must go through the process as established by the legislation and the Citizenship by Investment Board. Please note that the process above is for an application with no issues.

If my citizenship application is refused, do I have to wait to apply again?

Whether or not you can reapply if your application has been denied depends on the reason for the denial. In each case, your Authorized Agent will be able to give you an indication of if and when you can reapply.

What can I do if my application for Citizenship by Investment is denied?

You can appeal the denial of your application if you feel that there are good grounds to do so. Your Authorized Agent can advise you on how to make an appeal.

How can I get my application processed urgently?

Every application received by the Citizenship by Investment Unit will go through the due process that has been established by law. There is therefore no accelerated processing of an application. 

Please note that applications will be processed in the order in which they have been received by the Unit.

How can I help with my application?

You can help with your application by making sure that all the information and supporting documents you provide as part of your application is correct and in keeping with the guidelines published by the Citizenship by Investment Board. 

Incorrect and/or incomplete information will delay the processing of your application. 

You can also help by meeting the qualifying investment within the time allocated to do so. Failure to meet qualifying investment once your application has been approved with delay the granting of your Certificate of Citizenship.
